What one should learn to make graphics for web?
Hi All, I was going through CSS for web site development and progressing at right pace. I have started experimenting at the same time and trying to develop a site for my own. But I am worried about one thing. I am not at all familiar with HOW TO DESIGN GRAPHICS FOR WEBSITES? which tools to use. I have listened about Macromedia Freehand/ Fireworks. Are they good? What should be starting point in learning designing graphics for web? Is there any book which shows by examples how to create graphics, or you guys just pick these tools and experiment? I am very new to all this, so any help will be GREAT thanks |

Freehand is a desktop publishing package, and sucks! Sorry to be blunt, but it does! (from my experience of it anyway) There are a few limited times when I use it, but only for very simple things. I'm a PhotoShop user meself, and use it for virtually everything, from creating print ready artwork to comps for sites. I have to say though that fireworks does optimise images, buttons etc better then PhotoShop, so I create the lot in Photoshop then go into fireworks to do the final export. Probably not worth the hassle for a couple of KB here and there, but i'm a stickler for these things! |
