Contemporary Graphic Design

Am doing a pack of Contemporary Graphic Designers today's students should know of.

Foundation students will be 20 by the time they have graduated, so am trying to come up with designers/landmark designes of the last 20 years.

What do we think should make the list?

haha. get you! This is a forum right? Was just asking your oppinions. Although they are the best for general research, a lot of books are outdated because they take so long to print, and my local library is shit, and they cost a load on the net, which I can't afford at the moment. I figure the net is the best resourse for fresh design.

So clam down! Time of the month?

The net is a good resource, I agree.
How about using it?

I love how people lump all students into that "lazy and don't do any work" section.

What I was asking, Fred, who in your oppinion do you think should make the list, not "tell me who and me shal do". If you don't want to contribute your oppinion, fine, but don't be a prick.

A good cheaper resource, that's more up-to-date might be a magazine eg. graphik.

Surely its your opinion - not ours?

If you dont won't to appear lazy - how about getting together a list that you feel is acceptable and then asking us our opinions of the list - not the other way around.

and students are lazy cunts.

That's a good idea. Well, so far I've got these, but I don't think they are what I'd call "Landmark" just some stuff I like and that has inspired me. (please exuse miss-selling as I have yet to spell check)

Alex Jenkins - Prodigy "Fat of the Land" stuff
The Hacienda posters
Vaugn Olliver
Banksy
Lambie Naiem (I know that's spelt wrong!)
Pentagram
Peter Saville
Sanky
Neville Brody
David Carson
Tomato
The Designers Republic
Chris Bigg
Why not accosiates
David Branbrook
Milton Glazer
North
AllOfUs
Monster

There are a lot more but my mind goes blank at the moment. But a lot of them are pretty predictable, I'm trying to come up with fresh designers for a new generation.

What I suppose I'm asking, is, who is it that's turning you on at the moment?
