importing .ai and .eps into photoshop
hey guys, I have made a image in illustrator 10, I saved the file as a .ai file. I import it into photoshop and everything is great. I have also saved a copy of the .ai file as an .eps and when i import the .eps into photoshop, the whole image looks as though the opacity was not set on full (It was). Any ideas? Thanks Dixon

Is it that you can see the checkered background through the image or that the colours are less vibrant in Phooshop than they are in Illustrator? Fwiw, the EPS file format also contains colour syncronisation info. The colour profile embedded in an EPS may not be the best available for the Illustrator>Photoshop process. It may also be a case that you are working in two different colour formats (i.e. RGB in Illustrator and CMYK in Photoshop) Taking an image from RGB to CMYK will often 'deaden' the more vibrant colours that are present in the image. This is due to the differences between how RGB colour and CMYK colour are created. For more info on color management: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshopcolor/ http://www.adobeevangelists.com/photoshop/ http://www.creativepro.com/story/feature/14331.html http://www.color.org/whycolormanagement.pdf There's also sure to be loads of info in the online training section of the Adobe website. In the meantime, if you're getting the results you want by using .ai files, stick to using them. |
