Which one to buy

I am an intermediate when it comes to print design.
I know that printers want to have their colors in Pantone, so I want to get some Pantone color guides, but not sure which one I'll need.

This one?

Or This

PANTONE® formula guides coated, uncoated, matte would be my choice, every colour under the sun that your printer can produce, the tints guide is good if you use alot of half tones.....

can you buy them separately?
Coated would propably suffice for now if you can.

I have just the coated, uncoated and matte - does me fine.

if you're doing a print job just add the price of whichever one onto the quote.

I think you can. The reason I am buying it is because there was some color mismach on my last print job and I have to ran the job again (free of charge to the client). And it was a matte job. I know for a fact that the coated pantone colors look different from the matte ones.

Plus I just got off the phone with the Pantone sales service and ordered all 3 of them.
