Office Furniture

Just got the go ahead to turn the spare bedroom into an office.

Gonna gut the place over the weekend. Anybody got any suggestions for whats good office gear? There was a pretty swank desk posted ages ago, but I cant remember what its called.

Wanna avoid IKEA as much as possible.

don't know if any of these are near you:

i got my desks from them. very cheap and excellent quality. all donated by big businesses who were otherwise going to throw them out - these people re-cycle them and only employ thieves and drug dealers.

Whats wrong with Ikea?

(or Argos for that matter, got my desk from Argos and its fine...not perfect, but solid and does the job).

Spend more money on the chair than the desk. I'm after a new chair myself.

I've worn my chair down so much i'm literally being buggered by a irritatingly placed pole under the seat.

£300 not that bad actually I was expecting atleast a few 0's.

I saw one in Staples that was similar that was about £189. My current desk id from Ikea, it's done the job but I dont think I have room for it in the other room, alot of the current Ikea ones have them keyboard pullout drawers which I cant stand.

I've been trying to get an Eames Aluminium Group Chair but they're fetching £300+ secondhand at the mo... I think they look prettier than the Herman Munster chairs

Of course you'd need one of these in order to relax after/during a stressful day

I wouldn't call it an armchair as it's basically a large leather/fabric bag filled with mooshy stuff that you can sit on. Very comfy...

Ordered mine online!

Also managed to get my excellent Logitech Z-640 5.1 speakers for £45 in there when everywhere online had sold out!

I spent £450 building a custom desk with Ikea components and it was the dogs danglies.

Must get round to shipping it over here some time.

My current desk/chair over here came from Staples. Good enough quality for the price.

Same here, though with my low back pain, it's hard to find a comfortable chair at all.

Got this chair and a desk I couldn't find on the Staples site - it's a huge blue-ish corner desk with a nice hutch on one side.
