(Perhaps you didn't experience it, but right after 9/11 there were a bunch of ad campaigns in the states - like "Buy new cars, or the terrorists win!" or "Buy some jewelry, or the terrorists win!" It all came from one of the things Bush said after the attacks - that Americans need to "resume their normal lives" - go shopping, spend money, etc.)

Was way too much of that. Buy a flag and support those that lost their lives. Errr no, support the flag makers more like. Every fucker on eBay had ''Buy from me and support America" with 15 animated flags of course - despite the fact that they were selling pirated taiwanese DVDs and supporting nobody other than themselves.
