yeah - I watched that, and I signed the petition, you never know the government actually might see sense.

But I doubt it..

There's no way the food could be as bad over there as it is here...

Yeah, and that's not to mention the slop you get if you skip those fast food options and actually eat what the schools prepare. It's been a long time for me since high school, but I'm sure it hasn't gotten much better.

school dinners seem to have gotten much worse since I was at school, but in all honesty I think it's everyones responsiblity, not just the goverments. I'm 26 and most of my peers are now pairents; with all the advertising and convinience foods they seem to be shovelling this tosh nosh at home too! Next campaign: ban the sweetie / readymeals isles in super markets!

Actually, it is the government's responsibility. They run the schools - they make the decisions regarding the food served. The government shouldn't condone eating that crap at school - they should be teaching children healthy eating habits. Of course, it's too much for them to resist getting corporate sponsorship in schools.

It is also the parents'/individual's responsibility to keep themselves healthy and eat well - but at school, people should be educated about what they put in their bodies.

I'd sign it if I were from the UK.

Thats probably why im a Tesco fan, they listened to their customers about 5-6 years ago and removed all of the little sweetie holders at the checkouts.

BTW, Did anyone see Ruth Kelly, the Education Minister on the news saying that there will be no more money for school dinners? Was it just me or did she look like a man?
