VBulletin Skin .. please vote :)

I have bought these two skins to use on the new VB forum untill the forum competition has a winner, just wondering if people like them or not ; Im not too sure myself.

Nexus Skin - http://www.pixelvision.co.uk/vb/

Ekko Skin - http://www.vbskins.com/demo/indexekko.htm

they are good skins Oli but I think they are more suited to gaming sites/warez that sort of thing - not right for this forum m8.

Nexus is definitely the cooler of the two in terms of visuals, but an asolute ball-ache to read.
Needs to be something clean, light, and legible - dark text on light BG, not vice-versa IMNSHO

2p please...

i thought they both looked piss-poor. Some strange 1980s lightning bolt design that gives me a brain haemorrhage trying to read it.

Keep It Simple Stupid

Id be happy if it stays as this.

Greenfruit, I do agree with keeping it simple - one of the good things about the current skin is the simplicity of it - ALSO, it loads fast on my crappy 56k connection
the other skins are slightly overloaded with graphics - I am trying to design something myself for the competition - will be trying to do it simple...
I used to work for a company, that had a policy of max 25-35k per homepage... it kinda rubbed off... allthough I think it was a bit tight

this one looks better than the other two. it's simple, clear, looks very design-based and looks british
the others look like warez and/or gamer sites (as someone mentioned previously on this thread).
so stick to this one (..or get yer head kicked in)

I think this one would be great with maybe a few more images and drop the width of the main area down to 60-75%

You get what I mean?

I am not overly keen on the plain black and white of this design but those are not good designs for a design orientated forum.

Leave them for the gamers and dungeons and dragons guys!

Yeah I agree, they have gone out of the window now.
The date for entries in the forum competition is 14th April, all the members of the board will have a chance to vote for the new design. We have about 5 people entering including me
