Is there a UK based correspondence course in photoshop/quark express/indesign that someone could recommend? Are correspondence courses worth it?

I am in my late 20s live in the Channel Islands and really want a career change and although I have done a small bit of design and freelance illustration work I think a qualification will greatly increase my chances of employment. A full time course would not be possible as I have a young family.
