Looking for Website designer
I am looking for a website designer for a site I would like up by the end of the year. I am looking for someone to do it for free. I know thats a bit much but I am unemployed at the moment. I can pay for domain registration and hosting. Heres the info on the site idea : Real-Time Public Billboards The mini pitch: “Your ad anywhere. Right now.” What it is: A network of billboards, news stands and projectors linked to a single website that allows regular people just like you to place adverts in public spaces. Think of the “one million pixel” site but outdoors. How it works: You register, upload your advert, choose a location, hit go and see a live webcam feed of your ad displayed in any public space in the world. Why it’s hot: The cost of billboard advertising is prohibative to most small businesses and individuals. A public, global, mini-billboard network of ads for regular people and businesses that updates at the click of a mouse could earn megabucks. Make it work, and I’m sure Google would want a word with you too. Where the money is: Simply charge a flat fee or monthly recurring cost to place an ad. You could split your electronic billboards and projectors into small segments, or sell the whole space or network to one advertiser. Contact me: Courtney Aldridge caldridge86@gmail.com Thank you! |

The amount of money you would require just to get this thing working efficiently would be way more than you would be able to scrape together. Not to mention the magnitude of complexity for it to work correctly. There's much more needed than a website built for 'FREE.' It's an interesting concept but that's about it. Good luck with your journey. |

Phew! *wipes brow* Thought I was going to have to pay for that as well. As well as doing the site for free, that is. Why would you expect something for free? It would be like me waltzing into a shop and expecting a free cup of hot water and a plain buttered crusty roll for 50p. |

The audacity of people like this is astounding. They come across like they are doing YOU a favour by giving you this great opportunity to do their website for free in return for all this great exposure their bound to get. How could anyone possibly refuse!? How are you going to guarantee that, as you put it... Quote:
whichever chump does this for you. What the fuck are you talking about? Why would Google want a word with them? People do amazing websites all the time yet Google don't contact every single one. You expect top notch design to apply this great idea of yours yet you don't have the foresight to anticipate the amount of effort (read: money) it would take to realise this project. While the idea seems feasible (yoink - I'll be having that, thank-you), the fact that you aren't willing to stump up the readies to fund a decent looking website means that you're destined for failure. You know what, I hope you do find someone to do a free website for you. And I hope it looks fucking atrocious. And I hope it teaches you a valuable lesson - that you get what you pay for. Now get the fuck out. |

Moderately interesting idea and, one sounding like it would need a fair bit of hard cash to get it up and running. Cash I assume you don't have given your unemployed and looking for a free site. Given you have shared the idea and are in no position to roll it out, what's the motivation to keep you involved? |

I'm guessing this person hasn't read up on any of the laws and regulations, as I'm guessing this would break several of them. (and get hacked easily, I mean, a billboard connected to the internet? it doesn't matter if the site gets hacked or not, just getting near a specific billboard would be enough) |

I suspect he would have unsubscribed from his own topic by this point. When the snow starts falling in Cincinnati, tell some kid to shovel your driveway, not for money, but for the exposure and that the department of public works will want to have a word with him. You may have a better chance. |

I like the idea as well. How did you imagine the mini-billboards would work, are they effectively digital screens that are controlled remotely by the website? That would cost huge cash. this has gotto be a hoax |
