Teacher nearly kills pupil in attack.
BBC NEWS | England | Nottinghamshire | 'Pupil murder bid' teacher held Here is the basic story, A science teacher has been arrested for attempted murder after attacking a couple of pupils, which left one boy with life threatening injuries, outside a science classroom. Apparently he used a weapon, thought to be a large weight used in science lessons, to strike the boys. It will be interesting to see what cause this attack. Certainly with removal of any kind of physical punishment and laws preventing teachers to even touch children, anarchy has risen to extraordinary levels within some schools. Another factor is a newish fad called teacher baiting, where kids torment teachers into loosing temper then having it secretly filmed to put on YouTube. Maybe these factors and the possibility that teacher was suffering abuse everyday for years from the kids and he just snapped. It will be interesting to see what proked him to do this. Christ knows what this teacher did to go from an assault charge to attempted murder. Fuck me. When I first heard about this yesterday I assumed some little shit had given their teacher hell so he got a slap... now the media is on about the kid being attacked with a weapon and found in a pool of blood, and two other kids were assaulted for trying to protect the one who got attacked. Apparently the teacher had just returned from an extended period of sick leave, probably had a nervous breakdown, but clearly came back to work too soon and was driven round the bend by the bastards and snapped. I know kids can be cruel, but no one deserves that... |

I was talking about this with my father (a teacher) and he said they're not even allowed to tell the kids to leave the classroom now. Mind you, he's a stern fuck, so he doesn't get any guff. Plus the happyslapping/chav shite hasn't entered our classrooms to the same levels as it has in Engerland. Still though, they need to be given more power. ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐl ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ

The kid looks like a cheeky little shit (but who am I to judge). On the other hand, the guy could have just lost his marbles, thought he was seeing gremlins and started lashing out. I hate it when things like this appear in the news because everyone has their opinion, and thinks it's right, when all they know is what they read in the Guardian or saw on Channel 4 news. I remember when I was in school, some kids realised pretty early that no matter what they did, nothing bad would happen to them (in their eyes). The worst would be expulsion, then find a new school. On the other hand, we had a teacher who was (allegedly) suspended twice in my 5 years there, for indecent behaviour towards female pupils. And I once saw him throw a kid against a vending machine because he cheekily replied "George Best" to the question "who do you think you are?" after pushing in the queue. We'll see what happens... |

Kids these days can really manipulate their teachers. There's no respect. I got so pissed off at school with all the idiots that kept attacking them until they broke. A person can only take so much. Still, I'm not condoning intent to murder - if that's really what happened. |

most frustrating job in the world, I did it for a bit - never been the subject of so much instant disrespect and also had a chair thrown at me because I insisted that a pupil had to stop using a games portal on the computer he was using |

Teachers appear to have their hands tied now and kids know that, with some taking advantage. It can be impossible to reason with some young people and even if there were a general consensus for a return to corporal punishment, it's hard to imagine that being a workable option in this age. Perhaps a secondary education should become a privilage rather than a compulsion. If a child repeatedly demonstrates they don't want to be there and the parents can't adjust that attitude, then let the kid go into the workplace early and see what the real world is like. The new source of cheap labour could give a real boost to UK manufacturing and the economy in general. |

bit harsh, I'm all for a bit of punishment as a deterrent but attempted murder should be reserved for inner city schools only |

Hardly what I'd call the most reliable source, but it does include some more details - whether they're true or not I don't know. Teacher Peter Harvey tried to kill pupil, 14, with iron weight | The Sun |News Even before reading this I was struggling to believe the kid hadn't basically teased the shit out of the teacher til breaking point. Still no excuse mind. Interesting how much praise the teacher had got before this. sreski portfolio & scrapbook.sreski blog
