Colleges, degree programs?
Hey guys, I've just turned 22 yesterday. And I haven't headed off for college yet. I have been working as a professional web designer and front end developer at a firm since high school, but I was pondering as I get older - It would be nice to head back to school to further my career. Here is my problem. All the colleges I have looked at, have the bull sh*t web design/development programs. Most of the college courses for these degrees are 10 years behind the web. Most of the courses I saw went something like this: Really? Dreamweaver? visual basic? Sounds more like a course to sell us on Adobe and Microsoft software, than actually teaching web concepts and proper 'front end engineering' So I did a bit of research on some schools websites. Most of the websites used inline-css with tables, most of wich were created in dreamweaver. It's obvious that these programs are way behind. I'll be honest - I don't have the math skills to peruse a comp-sci degree. I'm looking for schools that will challenge me. I got accepted to parsons design/tech program years ago - And I probably should have went Any ideas/ suggestions? What have your experiences been? |
