June contest ::

Design a 500 x 500 pixel picture to be used on the splash page for Designers Talk.
This months subject is 'typography' , you must choose a font and use it within the design. The design must convey the 'feeling' of that font and use relevent colours/images etc. Somewhere within the design must be the name of the font chosen.

All entries submitted will be used in rotation on the splash page and the winner, chosen by vote, will receive a copy of TopStyle Pro and Swift 3D.

Please submit entries in gif or jpg format by opening a new thread in the competition forum titled - 'Competition entry - *fontname'

Closing date for this competition will be Monday 7th July.

May have a go at this one myself.

Hmm, the really hard part is wondering what I'm gonna do wth two pieces of PeeCee software when I use a Mac.

OK, I don't want to appear over confident, but I'm taking offers for swapsies now.

p.s. Yes I *AM* kidding (at least about the 'expecting' to win part)

I'd already considered a charitable act, possiby to whatever DT members most needed to be coaxed into 'the way of the css'.

Failing that, I'll gladly trade them for a packet or three of Party Rings

Just a thought...

There are plenty of good (read: highly regarded) books out at the mo, particularly 'tutorial' ones such as Eric Meyer on CSS and the SitePoint books.

Fwiw, I think such books would make great prizes as they are of great use to pretty much everyone working in web today as well as being 'non-denominational' with regard to platforms.

As I said, just a thought... for future reference, like.

hi there.. i'm new here.. but just to say that i think this site is awesome. I might consider joing this June competition, but just to check, I am from Malaysia.. lets say if i win anything (hopefully ;p ).. would you still send me the prizes? Just checking..

Yeah no problem - the Topstyle prog is a download and Im sure Swift wont mind sending the prog to where ever.
