eating healthy
so ive been trying to eat healthy for the past month and 1/2 and its been good so far. ive replaced most of my meals with either soups or smaller servings, more fruits & veggies, and yogurts & granola bars for the end. Im a pretty big guy, about 205lbs (i think) and will start hitting up the fitness center at my college this week and the rest of this semester. My question: ive been slumped with this one and need some advice. What do you do when you are starving(really hungry) and you've stopped eating the fast food places, where would be the best place to go eat if you're away from home? My old solution was to stop by Jack in the box or McDonals, but as i've stopped eating there for a while i can't go there anymore. Ive tried Subway and Quiznos but can't afford going 3x a week. Any tips or advice? my work schedule has really changed so now im in the office from 11-7pm then my normal 8-4pm schedule. cheers all! |

dont go to subway, as bad as mcdonalds - meatball marinara is worth 12 packs of ready salted crisps/chips. I don't know the best place to eat really, somewhere that does falaffel maybe? Or rice salads? Anything plain with wholemeal bread/grain |

The 6 in. veggie sandwich at Subway is great and low cal. If you get everything on it (including cheese, minus oil) you don't miss the meat. Plus I believe it's one of the cheapest things on the menu. Other than that, the Happy Meal at McDonalds isn't too terrible. Just keep to plain hamburger, and diet coke. Good luck! You'll be surprised at how seemingly small changes in your diet will add up. |

Not a direct answer, but if you ever consider another method, my wife and I lost 35 and 25 lbs, respectively, in three months on the South Beach diet. No exercise (embarrassing, I know) at all. I was a skeptic initially, but this bad-larry works. |
