Things parents say

My mum totally doesn't understand what I do - she also doesn't understand the Internet.

I work for a children's health Web site and our offices are located in a children's hospital. Last year I went to New York for a week to do a PHP course (which was uselss btw).

I recently found out that my mum has been telling everyone that I design hospital wards and that last year I got my Phd.

You should try not to let your mother rule your life. It's never a smart career move.

awww...bless her. My tutor always says his mother has never understood his job. haha She doesn't understand the internet, therefore, she doesn't know what needs designing etc. Oh well...just say you design erm...hospital wards. Atleast then, she won't ask further (I hope) haha

Technically, aren't you part of the age group that us young people think are old and computer illiterate?

Soo true. My father in-law believes I run a computer business. Sigh...

My in-laws dropped by while I was out the other day and dropped off a laptop and a desktop. The worst part about it is one of them works on networks. I'm pretty sure he has more experience with fixin em than I do.

*wonders if there is a way to make their bookmarks look normal but actually link to meatspin*

EDIT: never mind found it
