Mobile Broadband

Thinking of getting one of these 'plug and go' Dongle things from Orange, £15 a month, no line rental, 18 month contract. Anyone got one on other networks or on Orange? Any advice? cheers

Yeah, my GF has a T Mobile one.

Wicked when I go fishing and have to send a few mails etc.

It is just like a 3G mobile (obviously) if you are in a good area it is sweet, if not...

Download speed seems OK, not been too slow.

She has a download limit though, think it is 3gig, you an go over as long as you don't take the michael, kinda like a good will agreement, do it too many times and they take action.

Where are you based?

got a small vodafone dong.

no complaints. works very well with a decent mobile signal.

think the vodafone offering is currently faster/smaller than oranges/3gees. but don't quote me.

Orange have particularly bad support/speeds at the moment... they're cutting back on staff, have all of Wanadoo's old problems and too many customers on free broadband, means you get iffy connection rates and bad customer service.

I'm not sure how this would affect a dongle (3G?), but just thought it was worth a heads up.

vodafone here. 15 squid for 3gig, and a 24 month contract.

not failed me yet, and when you're in a super good area, speeds can be about 1.2mb p/s!

Yeah, Girlfriend got the Vodaphone one, took it back because the connection was shite. Apparently they won't put up more masts and spread the connections out until they have more and more people sign up for the product.

It had a great connection in the city but it wasn't very good at all on the outskirts.

What kind of connection speeds do you guys get on those?

I noticed they have a new phone here today that gives 3.2 megs/second. Sounds pretty fast to me, but I don't know what other countries are like.
