You may be right, that means nothing's stopping me! ...If anyone would like to educate me as to how to fly, I'd be more than grateful.

My job..would like to take a year out to travel, but worry about quitting my job - getting back and having to start over (knowing how competitive the market is).

Andy - if anything..I look back and wish I had taken up the opportunity to go travelling straight from Uni (If I had the money)...I remember it took me 8 months after Uni to get my first design job..that would have been good time spent travelling ...instead of at 28 when my Dad keeps telling me I should put the money I have saved in "bricks and mortar" now.

I have a book that gives advice on a career break, tells you al sorts of practical information such as how to break it to your boss, finding work abroad etc, how to cope with returning home etc. Have alook on amazon.

Thing is employers can see the benefit of employing someone who has done a bit of travelling its seen as a positive character development and providing you don't get too fried u'll be fine

Employers love to see a bit of a travelling background in an CV. Shows ambition and drive. You shouldn't let a job put you off a life changing experience (as I did), what work experience you miss out on initially can be gained very/fairly quickly with a little hard work when you return.

I'm working my way up to doing what I really want to do. Time and money aren't stopping me, but they are slowing me down a little bit.
