That's unfair to beard enthusiasts who keep their beards as a past time, and not just for the chance to win a phone! So... no.

ok.... ive been thinking!

i'm in the process of building my new website Guava Studios - Outsource Web Design Outsourcing Programming Outsource (its not finished - and dont even think about looking at it in IE 6 yet! i'm just putting it up there so google can start indexing the pages, should hopefully be finished by next week)

so, the competition should be based around promoting guava studios - ideally something to do with link building, but im a bit stuck for ideas at the moment

What about a marketing strap line. Like:

Guava Studios - We no mango...

hmmmm. interesting idea! the current strapline is "premium quality, fast turnaround, low cost" - not very snappy but it does what it says on the tin

Not 3 words that should ever be in the same sentence. Something can't be done quickly, for fuckall, and be good.

low cost != fuck all, all things in life are relative

e.g. if you were to go to a london web agency you might get charged £10k for something that only costs £1k to do, so if I were to quote £5k then this is a relatively low cost compared to other quotes

Outsource + Low Cost = $1 an hour

thats completely wrong also... ive been working with outsourcing companies for over 2 years now (about 10 companies in total) outsourcing literally hundreds of projects and ive never heard of a single company charging less than $9/hr - the average wage for a programmer over in india is about £2-£3 an hr so you're never going to get an outsourcing cost for less than $6/hr

I will PM you my rates.

A local internet upstart has a competition running whereby the blog post/link that ranks highest on Google by a set date wins a prize - in your case the search term would be "guava studios". The results are determined by the search results from various locations to even the field. That could really give you a boost if it's PR you're after.

In fact, just bringing this idea to the table should win me the phone

Well surely that idea is retarded considering it will knock the real Guava Studios link off of the top spot? Epic fail.

Why would that be? If there's a million people linking to his site, how would one of those overtake him in the race?

...anyhow, just a thought - who's for beards then?
