i love this site, is it joomla?.. or?
Hey, im currently looking at a few different websites to get a few ideas for building a new website myself. I am looking for a clean and sharp modern style and i am looking to use software such as joomla or other crm software as a base for a cms. I came accross crucialwebhost[dot]com and this looks like a joomla style website, but from what i can tell it is not. What really interests me is the top nav bar with the home, domains, hosting... links. If anyone could tell me if this site is joomla based, or where i can get any ideas on creating a nav bar like the one at the website above, it is appreicated. Thanks, Kilemi8 Last edited by kilemi8 : 23-02-2008 at 18:15. |

Don't know what it's built with, but that doesn't really matter. Joomla is not a CRM, it's a CMS. I'm curious what you think a "joomla style website" is? Your CMS or CRM has nothing to do with how your site looks, so I don't see what that even means. That nav bar can be replicated in any halfway decent system. If you want to learn how to make a nav bar, learn HTML and CSS. My opinion is that that site is probably not made using Joomla because it's coded well. |

I meant CMS.. Quote:
Because the style matches that of many joomla styles. I no have to replicate the nav bar exactly, i was just wondering if or what base was used to build the site, if any. Quote:
So Joomla isn't coded well? I highly dispute that. crucialwebhost, although stylish and clean, will not match the quality of the coding used for Joomla... thats a guarantee. |

what does choosing a cms have anything to do with designing a nav bar? i could do that in wordpress, textpattern, expression engine, drupal, etc etc etc. Quote:
right. since you somehow base the generation of a menu by what cms a site runs, that hardly qualifies you to even speak about quality of code. do you want to see a joomla powered site? here you go moveisestrelicia[dot]com. take a look at the code and tell me thats quality work generated by joomla. |

I didnt say a cms has anything to do with a nav bar. I said: Quote:
If i can put it any better... the site looks like its using a joomla template.. but after looking at the coding, i can tell its not. The nav bar statement is seperate.. sorted? Quote:
did i even base the menu on a cms?.. no. Let me explain again... After looking over a few websites for some ideas i came across 'crucialwebhost'. Initialy, on first impressions the site looked (to me) asthough it was a joomla site. After looking at the site more closely this is obviously not the case. What i like about the site is the nav bar. Are there any softwares (opensouce preferably) that already have a nav bar similar to this incorporated. For example.. wordpress. (any better?????!!) Quote:
What did you do, search for the worst Joomla site you could find..? btw.. i was talking in terms of the original Joomla Coding... not a jumped up, understyled, over-impressionised unoriginal and ugly (probably template bought from a robitic, monotonous site like templatemonster), with crappy coding and cheap stock images! As for the way you replied.. why answer me like im thick!!!!!?????!! How nice. Last edited by kilemi8 : 23-02-2008 at 22:06. |
