their - posessive plural pronoun, meaning "belonging to" or "of" them (ie: their shoes are stupid) there - usually an adverb, but can be a pronoun, a noun, or an adjective. Usually used to indicate direction, but can be used to indicate any kind of point (ie a point in terms of location, a point in a process, a point in time etc) they're - contraction of the words "they are", as in "they're stupid" someone else can take the next one... :P My signature sucks.

The apostrophe has three uses: 1) to form possessives of nouns 2) to show the omission of letters 3) to indicate certain plurals of lowercase letters. Apostrophes are NOT used for possessive pronouns or for noun plurals, including acronyms. |
