Let's face it microsoft wont gain any more search engine market share, they already have 2 failing search engines, why buy another to make that one fail too?

In 2004, my brother-in-law was in the enviable position of having been offered positions at both Microsoft and Google. Many people he knew at MS scoffed at him choosing Google, but look who's laughing now.

Apparently microsoft buying yahoo is the start of wanting to buy alot of the major players i.e facebook, yahoo, youtube etc. reports 'say' that they are worried about the continous success of google. interesting thought... if its tru or not...

Google already owns YouTube numbnuts...

Quote:
YouTube received funding from Sequoia Capital in November 2005 and was officially launched one month later in December. Chad Hurley and Steve Chen proceeded to become the first members of the YouTube management team and currently serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer respectively.

In November 2006, within a year of its launch, YouTube was purchased by Google Inc. in one of the most talked-about acquisitions to date.
BTW, how large do you lot think their (Hurley & Chen's) yachts are?

we mightn't wanna put all our eggs in the google basket. They could become the new evil overlords. That would be sad day.

I've got no problems with the stuff that MS makes. I only have problems with their ethics, prices and general badness.

I've used 3 different linux OS' and they've all been pants. There is still a long way to go before 'normal' people start using free OS. You spend more time looking at a shell and trying to emulate XP than you do anything else.

Microsoft are so far behind in the internet battle its untrue. Unless Google major fuck up somewhere down the line, they've won in my opinion.
