I'm getting into freelance web development and my biggest issue right now is what do I charge?? I've read some articles stating that I should not charge per hour, and some that say I should, some say go flat rate per page, etc, etc. I just want to get an idea of what you freelancers here charge. I'll be going US dollars, not euros or pounds (but I can do a conversion, if that's what you are paid by). Thanks in advance for any advice! |

Do a search, btw there's no right answer. You are worth what someone is willing to pay... I've seen salaries for an employed developer range from £15 - 80k a year. (the majority earn between 20-30k though) When I was freelancing I charged per job, but I always made the mistake of undercharging, the client would make the scope creep and I ended up earning fuck all and working all the time. Actually, not much has changed now I'm employed. |
