"No, everyone is born Christian. Only later in life do people choose to stray from Jesus and worship satan instead. Atheists have the greatest "cover" of all, they insist they believe in no god yet most polls done and the latest research indicates that they are actually a different sect of Muslims." It even start with a classic!!! |

Ugh, it's shit like this that makes me embarrassed to be a Christian. Like any religion, there are always going to be the overzealous, border-line crazy, people who make others look bad. |

No salt needn't, Jono. Those baffling opinions are what the writers believe and know to be true which makes them all the more frightening. Not to mention their influence on the US govt. Even some Bushite recently said that (American) atheists can't or shouldn't be regarded as being true Americans. My free fonts www.utfi.net

The hatred inside this people is frightening. They go against every one of Jesus' teaching. Love thy neighbour. Turn the other cheek. Do unto others.. Blessed are the cheesemakers. If Jesus wasn't alive now he'd be spinning in his grave. |

Oh, boy, a religion thread! FSTDT is a goldmine of comedy. I abhor all religion taken in any sort of a literal sense. As Joseph Campbell said, as soon as you concretize your metaphor, then you're in trouble. One of the main reasons I hate the place I live. My biggest complaint about "moderate" Christians is that they seem to refuse to take on these insane fundamentalists. We atheists can only do so much to ridicule their insane beliefs - it's only the "moderates" who can really affect change. But I don't see that happening. I see moderation disappearing and fundamentalism taking over. I'm deeply worried about the future of this country. Quote:
While Bush's injection of religion into public life deeply frightens me, I feel that he's not really as religious as he claims and that he (and the Republican party as a whole) merely exploits the credulity, gullibility, and superstitions of the fundamentalist Christian movement. Not that that's alright. Last edited by pgo : 15-01-2008 at 13:18. |
