Newcastle
Looking for some recommendations here. I'm going to Newcastle on Friday 28th - Sunday 29th December for my birthday. I fancy going out for dinner both Friday and Saturday night - any recommendations? I'm not fussed about the type of cuisine, as long as it's tasty! And as for the pubs, I'm more than happy to pay ned/chav tax on my drinks, so some decent places to get a good drink please! Going to go shopping on the Saturday and a bit of sightseeing - what's not to miss? Hope someone can help!! Thanks. |

Thanks, but I've got accommodation sorted. We're staying here: McKever City Apartments Newcastle £19 is a serious price, though! Are they manky or is it just a good bargain? |

travel lodge? You never heard of them? Travelodge - Great value accommodation across the UK and Ireland I wouldn't say they are manky like - just basics - dont expect any jacuzi spas etc. Just a nice bed - tv - shower - toilet etc - but no they are good places to stay and cheap to. It depends how stuck up you are mate |

No, don't think I'm slagging off Traveodge! I've stayed in them plenty of times. I've just been treated to a nice hotel apartment thing for my birthday this time, which is great. I was asking if these ones were a bit manky, because there's been a few duffers that I've stayed in (mostly up here in Scotland). As for the people who've stayed in Travelodge, that's just really weird. Now, how's about those pubs and restaurants? Anyone? |

King Neptune, Chinese, Stowell Street, this street is china town in newcastle, some of these are OK, some are good but this is the best, not the cheapest but not that expensive, specialising in peking & seafood, more expensive set banquets are excellent, not far from where your staying. as for bars there are hundreds to choose from in city centre area, depends what your into? |
