Fucked
Just been to the physio, as my shoulder has been a bit fucked for 6 months, had already been to my GP – who reckoned it was ligament damage. I can still go to the gym/swim etc, but can't do any exercise that isolates my right shoulder. Turns out my back/arm is fucked from sitting at my screen all day & my shoulder joint needs to be "re-educated" – anyone else suffered from this and if so, how long did it take to get sorted? I've got a set of exercises & another appointment booked for next week, but don't fancy too many £35 physio visits! |

I had something similar last year. I couldn't raise my left arm more than about 90 degrees or put it behind my back - inconvenient when dressing etc. It was probably due to leaning on it for 14 hours a day in front of the computer. I lived with it for about 6 months until I got fed up with it. Vast improvement after only two weeks of physio and it disappeared altogether by the end of last year. Had to fork out 9 euros for 2 physio sessions EACH! My free fonts www.utfi.net

It has little to do with the chair - it's to do with posture. My free fonts www.utfi.net

I do that anyway. Mouse for surfin', stylus for working. My problem was with my left shoulder, probably because I put my left elbow on the desk and lean my chin on my hand. My free fonts www.utfi.net

My back was giving me serious pain after working long hours on a normal chair, to the point where I couldn't sleep at night unless I was dosed up with night nurse and sleeping on the floor. So I bought a stokke variable. ![]() My dad has a bad back and he has had several different types of kneeling chair, but we never found a good one. I bought one of these and he came over to test it out and bought one too because he thought it was so good. Kneeling Chairs - Back in Action Last edited by freelancr : 24-11-2007 at 07:44. |

I had my left elbow on the desk and my chin on my hand too! Oops. I have a trapped nerve in my left elbow which sometimes plays up if I've been at the computer too long. My fingers in my left hand twitch quite badly for a few minutes, so I now stretch my arm (subconsciously these days) to stop it from starting. Had it a few weeks ago at work, must've looked like a right weirdo! |

Had exactly the same thing for the last couple of years - changing chairs helped, but only about 20%. I went to a Chiropractor for a few months, but it was a huge waste of money really. I'm used to it now, and just kind of put up with it, but I need to sort it out somehow. Let's not even bring up lower back problems |

Fuck putting up with it! I like to get to the gym, but I feel really restricted in the things I can do. And the things I can do, I can't push – otherwise it feels like my arm might end up PROPER fucked. Going to give these exercises a bash for a week & see how i'm feeling/what the physio reckons next week. Cheers for the feedback folks! |

inspired by this topic I just decided to rearrange my desk. Instead of constantly having a 22.5 degree angle between the direction of my body above and below the waist (like I've had the past 3 years or so), I can now sit completely straight when looking at my monitor. |

I'm sitting here reading through the post and get halfway down and realize I have my hand in my chin and my posture is about as erect as a 90 year old man. I recently got out of Physical Therapy (PT) a few weeks ago. The first few few weeks of what seemed like more pain than it was worth but in the end I feel better. Just keep up with the stretching and weird band/weight exercises and you should be good in a few weeks. The hardest part is not slipping back into old habits. Best Wishes |
