This thread is all about imagining life without the internet (yes, we lived that way once believe it or not). But has technology forced us to become dependent on it? less social? addicted?

List one or more things you would do WITHOUT the internet. I'll start

without the internet, I would probably get more into nature and fine art, painting landscapes or making sculpture.

Without the internet I would crawl up into a ball on the floor ina a dark wet corner of the room, and cry uncontrolably.

I was without the net for 4 weeks while I moved house, so I can say this with complete confidence...

Without the internet I would become obsessed with Phil Mitchell's shuffling feet in Eastenders.

He shuffles his feet between lines all the time. I can't look away when he's on screen.

I was netless for 8 days last month while my laptop was having an overhaul and I had the time to read a couple of books from beginning to end, spent more time making some decent grub in the kitchen and kept the flat looking clean. For the first three days I missed logging on to check news updates and DT but after that it felt pretty normal. Survivable, anyway.

in actual fact - it'd probably be just like when you're computer breaks ...

once you get past that first 3 day 'oh my god' thing ... life returns to normal and you really wouldn't miss it ....
