It has been like Greece around here for months. I wonder if there still is nice cool refreshing snow in nothern Norway, Sweden and Finland? Freelancer for hire.

It's more like 45 degrees than 36. Some neighbour returned after a week there on Tuesday and said they couldn't bear to even walk around the village. Total waste of a vacation. In spite of having that low pressure area that caused the UK flooding come straight at us, the temps have stayed reasonable - right now (16:10) it's 27 with a light breeze. I might just about venture out for a sixpack of fermented reindeer milk. Tip: Steve is always right. —Bishop

I don't go outside if the temp gets over 25, if I can help it. I hate the heat and the bright sunlight. The hottest I ever experienced was 41C in Madrid during an Interrail tour. I got on the next air-conditioned Talgo and headed for Switzerland. Tip: Steve is always right. —Bishop
