geek gifts

My colleague's birthday is next week and I haven't got a clue what to get him.
Haven't really had a chance to find out what he likes as he's usually just sits quietly in front of the screen building "sites that work"!

Was thinking either a WiFi connection finder or a donation to Wikki Foundation on his behalf (as a gag gift).

What do you reckon?
Any better suggestions?

HOW TO ATTRACT MONEY (a Book by Robert Griswold) - - Effective Learning Systems

Not really geeky but I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

That ThinkGeek shit comes from the US. Takes months to arrive and then another three weeks plus a surcharge in customs.
Get him a T-shirt, or a pack of three white ones. No-one ever has enough Ts!

Would normally just get a few tinnies in but we do that every Friday/slowday anyway. Also, pub's nothing special either as that's very much a regular occurrence.

Larixk, thanks for the suggestion, will look for UK equivalent.
DH, probably buy the book for myself.
Steve, I've got no idea what three white ones are?
Hawken, might send out wrong message.

How about a tacky USB desk fan?

No. Tacky is out. Even as a joke. Remember "sustainable development" (it says here). He probably deserves better than tacky, right?
There are some pretty stylish and wacky digital clocks which aren't the sort of thing you'd buy for yourself but would be pleased to get as a gift. Google "geek gifts UK" and see what you come up with!

Think Geek sells over priced shite. There are plenty of online gadget stores based in the UK, like firebox or iwantoneofthose or whatever....

ThinkGeek sells uber-geeky t-shirts:

and the SQL query one made me chuckle...

Code:

Har har har.

That's pretty good.

Second one went straight over my head!
