Ah fuck it. I like it. It's got some balls. Doing somthing around the thames, etc, would have been so expected. When I saw that I was like... what the fuck?!!

I'm gonna hold judgment before I see what else is around this brand, this logo is probably only scratching the serfice of the concept

Don't mind the shapes, but the magenta? Its odd, still, we have 5 years to get used to it.

That will look ace on a white tee.

Colour choice does seem strange though, seems as if they've just gone for a bold colour just for the fuck of it. Aren't the shapes dynamic enough, does it need to be pink aswel?

look on the bbc news site, there's a link to it's unveiling, it doesn't look half bad in motion, even if it is little too 80's retro.

It's a sad day for British graphic design and the last remaining tatters of its reputation - and for everyone who sees this scribble.

Alan Fletcher would be turning in his grave, this is an utterly appalling logo. There's being bold, and there's being shit. This one's the latter.

Nah I disagree with the lot of you. This logo is going to go down in history, weather it's good or bollocks doesn't matter. Considering Olympics need to capture the minds of the yoof and rescue us fatties from Americanisation, only time will tell. What's important is the big hary testiclays the Olympic commitie have had in chosing this logo, would have been so easy for them to go for a dry and dull/expected logo.

I like the shape, but the type london is written in is quite bollocks.

It's always dificult to judge a logo in isolation, as I said earlier, it will be interesting to see around it, in terms of how it could be used across graphic language, animated, signage...

oh its just something I threw together, didnt take long

I thought the olympics was meant to inspire people, this is awful and an awful image to associate with London.

I actually find it difficult to believe that the IOC approved this... It doesnt show the different colours of the 5 rings - And they are coloured for a reason. This has lost a lot of the message of the olympic rings just like that... The colours they have chosen for the blocks dont even correspond to the olympic colours... I just dont get it.

And how this is supposed to appeal to the "internet generation" i have no idea... We're all members of that generation, and we (well, most of us), don't like it. To me this says nothing about being dynamic and active, even in motion (and that fact of it supposedly always being in motion brings up problems as well... it needs to print well... which it blatantly doesnt)... It doesnt make me think of london, or even the UK... It makes me think of magenta blocks, hasily placed and rotated over some yellow blocks. The "London" typography is disgraceful, too...

Methinks some agency somewhere is laughing at the £400,000 they got paid for this... Looks to me like they got to the day before the deadline and went "shit! We were meant to do that thing for the Olympics... Oh... That will have to do".

Shame.
