Buying: '05 Cadillac CTS 3.6 vs. '06 Dodge Charger SXT 3.5

My previous car was a beauty, a '89 Cadillac Seville that ended tragically in a parking lot. Repairs ended up being more then the book value at that time.

Now I'm looking for a new car and I'm sitting on a wire here. I'm out to buy a new car, '05 Cadillac CTS 3.6 or a '06 Dodge Charger SXT 3.5. Both are similarly priced and same features and KM's.

The only real difference is the CTS has the power leather seats.

Where as the charger has a better looking interior.

Any input would be awesome.

If you want to look upscale, go with the Cadillac, if you want to look tough go with the Charger.

Hard choice you have to make, wish I could get to pick between them two awesome cars.

Dont buy american cars, grab a BMW, Merc, Audi or some Honda, Nissan etc. Ive driven the new Hummers which are supposedly expencive and quality cars and for fuck sake, if I can stick my finger between the interior panels it kind of sucks.

I would go with one of those but the body shape/designs aren't very unique. I want something that stands out. And the models that do stand out are a bit out of my price range. Maybe in few months after I get my raise. I'll give this car to my kid sister. Right now I'm leaning towards the CTS because of the power leather seats and my previous car was a Caddi and I was very pleased with it except its appetite for gas.

Just because you had an issue with one car, dunno if it's even the maker maybe just that specific car, doesn't mean all American cars a crap.

A Honda or Nissan over a Charger or Cadillac, whoever would do that must be on some wicked type of crack.

The charger will stand out the most, especially if lowered and some nice little extras added to it, Cadillac is class - it's the one I would choose.

Caddys are worth it only if they are older then me, that is more then 20 years old. I´ve driven a lot of American cars, most of them were cheaper ones, just that Hummer was a real surprise quality wise and I had to mention it.

I´ve driven dodge charger, it is as pointless as those new mustangs - fucking motherships and absolutely no cornering performance. I can beat it on track with my a wee bit tuned 200SX eyes closed and a thumb up me ass.

If GK is in the US, then of course he should buy domestic. Prolly get a decent price reduction these days too, as Detroit desperately tries to reduce stockpiles of technically backward, inefficient, heavy and wasteful autos. I mean, we don't want them stinking up our boulevards and avenues in Europe, after all.
No offence meant - but you make 'em, you drive 'em!

I'm fairly sure I will "go for the Caddy", as Adras put it. It's a bit shorter then the Charger but also has a little less power, I found out it was a 2.8L and not a 3.5L, 210hp compared to the chargers 245hp. But I find it has more pro's over the charger.

Muahah, This car will suck when it comes to Canadian winters. I hope I'll manage.

Oh, you're in Canada? That changes things, go for one of these;

A little less horsepower, but a lot better on the fuel, goes for around the same price as the Caddy.
