Client communication

Anyone got any links to resources/articles or books on improving communication with clients.

Improved methods of obtaining detailed job briefs, proofing artwork... anything really!

If I did that I wouldn't have any clients. Cunts.

I'm trying to increase the professional standards of client interaction... create guidelines for proofing so its more secure, pin down all the grey areas of just what a client gets for their money so no one is left in the dark... that sort of thing.

I read this a while back

Amazon.com: Graphic Designer's Guide to Pricing, Estimating & Budgeting Revised Edition: Books: Theo Stephan Williams

it's got information about the logistics and organization budgeting and pricing of projects - it's a bit dated with regard to new media but the prinicples are the same

This publication from RGD Ontario (Registered Graphic Designers in Ontario) is supposed to be good, but they have also posted a bunch of forms that you can use. Something to take a look at maybe...

RGD Ontario - look it up
