2p off basic rate of income tax 10p starter rate abolished 2p cut in corporation tax Gas guzzling car duty up to £300 this year and £400 next Beer and cider up 1p, wine 5p, spirits duty frozen 11p on cigarettes 2p petrol increase frozen for six months More cash for schools and hospitals f*ck schools and hospital. look how much i have to pay for fags. |

the other day I was just remembering when I was a kid I used to really hate budget day because they used to show it on the telly on EVERY channel ALL day long. nowt on telly for an enitre day & night was absolute torture. was it really necessary to show the entire frigging thing?? just summarise it on the 6 oclock news ffs! |

Cigarettes are so insanely expensive in GB - as is pipe tobacco - that I really wonder at smokers' sanity. I think a packet of Marlboro costs about €4.20 in Finland - that's half-a-crown EACH in old money! |
