I find inspiration when designs are modernized... it's like adding another chapter to a book of a design.

good use of White space... they have breathed more air into it and made it more dynamic. Not keen on the justified columns but word length per line is ok, always prefer a ragged though. Not keen on how they styled the teasers on the front though. TIME is a speed mag they have no time to produce spreads and is mostly taken off template, so i think they have done a good job!

Can someone tell me why some articles are justified and some aren't? There must be reasoning to it, and I'm too thick to see it.

contrast between spreads... profile spreads and such are taken off template and left to the "HEAD" designers and they have more freedom. They "believe" it s cool, but its NOT. The girl who had my job before me started off at TIME and she was a poor designer!!!

The typeface is Franklin Gothic, designed 100 years ago. Like Time magazine's editorial policies.
