Printer suggestions

I'm looking to buy a printer for home, nothing too crazy. My budget is about 300-400 USD max. I'll mainly be printing in small runs (comps, etc) and the occasional photograph. But I would like it to be a medium-format to print at least 11x17. Which would you buy? I was looking at the HP Deskjet 9800 but was turned off with all the negative reviews I've been seeing. Thinking about Epson Stylus series.

400 USD is about £200 - although it may translate a bit better after you take away the 'shaft the UK' Tax.

Depends on what you're looking to reproduce but if you can afford it go for a 6-8 colour Inkjet printer.

Best quality you'll get this side of a proper litho.

I've got an old Epson Stylus 1290 (A3) that works as well after 4 years as it ever did. Ace.

Got an HP at home which just feels a bit lightweight, the epsons got some meety body to it.

Though yeah a full ink set'll set you back £40ish.

I got this for 200 quid. Bit of an overkill, but worth checking your local bankruptcy auctions. Took a truck with a lift to get it back to the office:

Color Lasors!
