Could anybody help me
Hi, I'm totally new about web design thing. I'm a career changer, and thinking to get into web design world. I wonder if somebody could tell me what doest it takes to become a good web designer. Which school will be a good, practical way to study web design..don't plan to get another Bachelor though..too long. Is that really hard to get a job as a web designer? Also is web designer connected with graphic design? Is that necessary for us to study graphic design to be able to make a good web site? Any answer would help. Thank's in advance. Novi |

You don't need to go to school. Besides, most universities teach outdated methods. They can't keep up with the fast paced web development world. Graphic design is fairly important from a design standpoint (go figure). Understanding the basics of grid layout, color theory, typography, and so on will be of great benefit. Then there's the code - front end (XHTML/CSS/JavaScript) and/or back-end (PHP/MySQL or similar). Generally, people will specialize in one and dabble in the other. you can concentrate on one area as well. design or code. best to be well rounded though. you need to understand accessiblilty and stuff like that. alot of it comes with experice and some of it comes with talant. |
