So much for the rumours of a 2GB for £60 mini-ipod that have been doing the rounds for the past few weeks.

One for the die-hard Apple fans with too much money and too littel consumer sense, I think.
Count me out.

it will be £199 in the uk. Not bad when most 256MB flash MP3 players are around the £150 mark. Its suits a certain market. Its quite a bit smaller than the current ipod and would be a lot more suitable to poeple using it when at the gym or mountain biking etc.

That's exactly what I want a player for.
£199 is still unreasonably steep (imo) for a 'walkman+'. Bah, humbug!

well, it still aint cheap i agree, but but when the creative muvo 256MB is £149.99 I think its about right. £50 more for 16X the storage? or £50 more again for another 4X the storage but a bigger device.

i do think it was quite expensive and i was disapointed by the keynote speech.

I hoping that if "2004 will be an exciting time for Apple" then therell be more to come yet.

for the extra dollar, the magic of a massive, stable, firewire portable hard disk is worth the expense. what would you pay otherwise? bugger me if that doesn't make it a justifiable business expense. spend to survive, impress to fleece...

took delivery of an iTrip today. apart from the massive expense of shipping the bastard from the states by UPS (and the surprise VAT addition which they charged on the postage too) it works very nicely indeed. most impressed.
