rates

Hi,

I've moved over to Canada recently and have managed to secure some work - I need to negotiate an hourly rate for design work - print work & possibly web based work in the future.

What would you say the 'average' web designers hourly rate is in the UK?

I don't know how much to charge....??

Thanks,

judging from your portfolio, you coul be charging anywhere between £25 - £45 an hour freelance rates ( for a project you do under your own terms) - contract rates (doing a set contract somewhere at thier premises) more like £10 - £15 an hour.

But then it depends on the market there, you might be lucky if you get paid more than a burger jockey in McDonalds!

where are you living in canada? the rate would vary depending on if you're living in/looking for work in toronto (expensive living = higher pay) or edmonton (much cheaper living, I love this place simply for it )
