Man... when I was a teen, I smoked weed. Smoked the odd cig... but not often enough to make it habit. I have no probs with people who smoke... but what pisses me off, is people who smoke in public areas... or around my little girl. I've been known to get pretty irate at people who feel the need to light up near myself or my family. I've been known to snap a cig out of an offenders mouth and flick it off into the distance. I dont care if someone kills themselves slowly and at their own expense... but when my family is added to their smoke suicide equation, I feel it's my duty to step in and adjust their attitude. I have no probs with people smoking, it's their choice, but to go damage a 6 yr old little girls lungs because you won't think twice about where you smoke should be considered a crime. Since it isnt, I enforce my own law when the need arises. =) |

I understand you not wanting smoke near your little girl that is fair enough and I would do the same. As for public areas ? I dont mind if someone is smoking in the park or walking along shopping. Confined areas like restaurants, cinemas etc should have a smoking section or ban it all together. What annoys me is that the governments now force all these new regulations and taxes on smokers when its their fault people smoke - a drug more dangerous & addictive than any other should not be allowed to be sold in shops, its just wrong. Ive given up for 8 days now, and its getting so much easier - I dont even think about it now |

I dont mind if people smoke outside, that's cool. But, people lighting up inside bus terminals, in the doorways of office buildings and malls, or sitting in a bus shelter REALLY annoy the hell out of me. It's like they think it's CLOSE to outside, so that makes it ok. Nope, it ain't ok... let me just put that cig out in your eye socket... hehe I think governments should take a more active role in stopping the tobacco industry, warnings on packages and increased taxes don't really do a whole lot. People who dont have much money still seem to find a way to purchase a pack of smokes... that's a serious problem if people will choose cigs over food or paying bills. |

another thing I didnt realise.. how much smokers stink!! I have really noticed it this past week, I know there was a bit of a pong but its bloody horrible! I hope i dont turn into one of 'those' ex-smokers who go on about the smell and health side-effects etc. Im going for a jog tonight on the same route that I did the other week which nearly killed me , so I hope i should see some difference. |

I quit by using the gum in 1996 after smoking for 11 years. Everyday you go without smoking the easier it gets. I have had no nicotine since. I don't want to remind my brain what it is missing. Good Luck! -------------------------------- http://www.getcanned.com |

COBRAHQ: I'm not sure if it's necessary to [i:0b24c62534]quit[/i:0b24c62534] such things like a soft drink Personally, when I like something 'too much', I deliberately consume too much of it till I get sick of it and don't touch the stuff for a while. It worked with icecream and sweets Have you tried coffee? ...

Don't even get me started on coffee... been drinking that since I was 6! Try waking up for morning hockey practice at 4am... coffee is your very best friend that early. =) Coke is just such an evil soft drink... I've cut my consumption down quite a lot, when I was a teen I think I ingested approx. 2 litres per day... that can't be good. =) |
