magnifying glass

There's loads of tutorials around about getting a magnifying glass effect on photos but is it possible to make it dynamic?

I've loads of images to show this way. Could I just feed it the image urls dynamically and let it get on with it?

Difficult job?

You could always buy Zoomify not too hefty a price tag depending on the job...

http://www.zoomify.com/

It's pretty easy to customise too, dynamic is a go. Shout if you need a hand with it, used it a bit in the past.

Much easier than doing it yourself - lots of advantages as far as load time etc go.

I decided to try the "let's not think about it and hope it goes away" route.

No, I'm thinking of doing something like this instead.

http://www.asos.com/product.asp?sku=CFCET1212

Click the small images and then the "click here to zoom in" link.

If I can somehow get the word ajax in there everyone's a winner.

he heh.

The Zommify thingy's good as you can make the images Fookin huge and zoom in a different magnifications (good size managment too). But if you're just after a single zoom, you're right, your version's much better.

Hadn't even heard of it before so have no idea if it's any good compared to the full product, which I'd also never heard of till dan mentioned it, but it says here that this version is totally free - http://www.zoomify.com/ez/

yeah saw that but I need it to be dynamic. As far as I could see we'd have to create different .fla for each image with the free version.
