what tools were used to create the HTC windows 8 ad?

Indesign CS6, Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6.

no, but it is animation...was it flash? watch the HTC ad please...very colorful

Flash is a medium for the web. It is not possible to produce broadcast quality images with it. Ergo, the tv advertising was not produced with Flash.

You can have print 'ads', web 'ads' and broadcast 'ads'. You didn't state which one you were asking about and, being predominantly a print designer, I assumed you meant the press/print ads.

Having been a video editor for twelve years, I assumed you meant broadcast ads.

sorry, for my minsinformation. I wasn't able to paste a link here, hence, why i wasnt clear enough.

In you tube, if you paste this -'Introducing the Windows Phone 8X and 8S by HTC' you will get that video. that's the one i am talking about. it is very colorful and animated with basic shapes.

edit - not seen the HTC ad but really, really doubt that it was done in flash

Isn't Flash all vector? It should be able to scale to any medium no?

I'm guessing this is the ad he's referring to by the colour and I'm going to take a shot that it was completely done in AE.

It's creation tools are all vector but it can animate bitmaps as well
