Hi I have a little experience reading into xhtml and css and developed an ok understanding. Kind of rushed head-first into flash. I wanted to create an website in the format of an online book. To do this used this software: page-flip dot com When I publish my movie (using flash 8) it stays immobile centered in browser, when I would like it to adapt to the browser/ monitor size. I have changed the publish settings to percent in flash program itself. And also attempted the object, embed settings in the HTML code.. although some clarification on the correct code is necessary. How I can succeed in making the movie scale? |

you can do it with javascript or other language e.g. php. get the value of the browser size then set your object / embed tags width / height to the values you pick up from the javascript or php. Make sure you get the scaling right else it will look shit. ideally you need to be looking at liquid flash gui |

d*d I originally turned to pdf, but found the customisable level of the flash component valuable especially for longer documents like ebooks. urban, unfortunately also unfamiliar with php and javascript. Do you think I should learn these formats before attempting flash? |

Hi here the progress so far from another board... (the only other board techsupportforum dot com /design-forum/web-design-programming/274792-flash-movie-scale-browser.html#post1619550 that ties in with your advice Urban and the link was really good. The youtube example is how I had been explaining to my friends the concept I was trying to achieve. Except running into java in the dowloaded files (when I tested the files in firefox 3 also mentioned needing java to show animation so I closed window), mostly as I have never even loked at java code. |
