Hi there I'm trying to find a standards compliant way to embed flash animations and have them play when i rollover (x)html text links:
Essentially I have a navigation menu that uses spans to display descriptive text on rollover. i would like the small animations to show up at the same time but i don't know how to achieve this without using a ridiculous amount of javascript. the best suggestion I found so far was here:

If anyone could suggest a better way please let me know otherwise i may be forced to design the site in two versions Flash and Html and I'm a bit crap and at flash I can only do small animation and basic interactions I'm also worried about search engine friendliness etc.
