music in flash
i've been here before but a few years back and i'm hoping that the flash engine and user's cpu's are a bit better suited. i'm trying to sync tight animation to a long soundtrack (6-7mins). is there any way that you can be sure that the animation will either 'catch-up' with the music (i can't cut the soundtrack) if the processor falls behind (b'cos of the weight of the animation) or to make sure that the frame rate is properly thrown out. - ideal frame rates? - stream/pre-load sound? - one long movie or lots of small ones (will they start when you need them to start or is it best to go with one long timeline to be sure?) cheers. |

I believe there is a way: it's called a "Stream sound", which can be -- I think -- invoked in the Property Inspector. Basically it's a sound that keeps going no matter what, and Flash will drop frames of your animation to keep it sync'd. Other than that, I would say try to break the movie up into smaller bits. Good luck! Maybe you can find stuff on Google looking for Stream sounds. |

I saw an ad for something specifically designed for lip-syncing in flash. The add even allowed you to type in stuff and have the flash model head 'say' the words. Seemed quite nifty. I think I bookmarked it. I'll have a dive down my recent bookmarks and history to see if I can find it again. [edit] found it and see that it might not be any good to you after all. Still, worth taking a look… http://www.oddcast.com/sitepal/ [/edit] |
