need help with dynamic txt

I can’t seem to figure out how to change the back ground color from white or just hide the back ground

whenever i use dynamic text its default is a transparent background. its only ever white when i click it to type text in. this code that i found at macromedia.com may work

myTextBox.border = true;
myTextBox.borderColor = "0x123456";
myTextBox.background = true;
myTextBox.backgroundColor = "0x345678";


myTextBox the instance name of the box

how much text you flooding in

you could stick - myTextBox.background = false

and just put a coloured square behind (in block) etc

i think you're on to a winner there. that button definately does get rid of your background (and the border as well - though you could just draw a border round it)

tks for all the post just got home from work i do have the outlined boarder checked was thinking it needed to be for the scroll.It worked tks alot spent alot of time trying to figure that thing out

ohh and the mouse scrolling i ment with the will in the text box ive seen it but i cant find a good resource to read more on it

you need mx 2004 for that i think... or at least the user would need the flash 7 player if there was a way in mx
