whenever i use dynamic text its default is a transparent background. its only ever white when i click it to type text in. this code that i found at macromedia.com may work myTextBox.border = true; myTextBox.borderColor = "0x123456"; myTextBox.background = true; myTextBox.backgroundColor = "0x345678"; myTextBox the instance name of the box ::: TC Magazine :::

i think you're on to a winner there. that button definately does get rid of your background (and the border as well - though you could just draw a border round it) ::: TC Magazine :::
