I went though 3 beginning books to see that I know everything in them, what next? I am not good at graphics design, I find actionscript easy. I want to use flash to its extent (movies, sites and images). what book/video should I get? is cartoonsmart worth it? |

Okay so you've learnt the basics and you're good at actionscript (OOP ?). What is it you want to do? make games? The best way to progress is to come up with a concept, an idea for a game, review site, showcase site whatever interests you. Then go build it. Challenge yourself, add those extra bits. If it's games add those extra environmental factors wind etc. If it's a site concentrate on how your drawing in your content and how you manage it (both programatically & visually). Basically, go do some. As you work through projects you'll hit walls and barriers overcoming these is what will help you progress. Tutorials and books can only take you so far. They're good for helping you out in times of need but it's the doing that'll make you. |
