Flash 8

So anyone used it yet?

The bitmap rendering seems much improved as does general player performance on the mac. Some of the filtyers look like they could be pretty handy and the bitmapped stage effort looks interesting.

Think I'll order my studio upgrade tomorrow... worth it?

Came out 2 days ago in Canada - it now re-renders text with a new engine - soooo sexy.

Yup already out if you order from Macromedia. Most of the stockists I tried don't seem to have it in yet though. All they said was "soon, soon"

Ordered from MM.

Customers of any past versions of Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks or Studio are eligible to upgrade to Studio 8 for a single, simplified price of £299 (UK, commercial pricing) regardless of version number.
should have missed last years update, that would have saved £600. bunch of cunts. what about those who've given them on average £500 a year for the last few years, i'd appreciate a little cheaper option too.

then again, this might be macromedia's last chance to get the upgrade fees before adobe get involved.

True, gotta agree it's a bit galling. More pissed off with it not being cheeper to upgrade the Adobe Design Collection to the CS suite - same price as photoshop 7 - twats.
