interview with web firm tomorrow
one of my friends has had a web firm (Hosting-Development-SEO- Business Marketing-Central Mass Web Design) design and construct his father's landscaping business (MCC Landscape Contractors Inc - Quality Lawn Care Design, Installation, and Landscape Maintenance) . Sometime around last month I had decided to check if their hiring, I used my personal e-mail which I don't check often to send them. I wasn't really expecting a response since I had previously inquired about it as well. A month later I checked the e-mail and surely enough they replied. They wanted to see my resume and perhaps a portfolio. I provided both. They phoned me the next day to set up an interview for the following week. Recently I have also gotten a couple different "radical" appearance changes to myself: a mohawk (not skin head mohawk) and also a nose-piercing. My question is that what should I prepare myself for the interview tomorrow? We talked briefly over the phone about CMS and PHP + MySQL so he could get an understanding that I know what I'm talking about. I planned on printing out some of my work anyways to bring with me. Should I really be concerned about them looking down upon piercing and hairstyles? Keep in mind, I don't have any tattoo's. Or am I just getting worked up about my first business-setting? Thanks. |

A first impression is really important, so do anything that would help you in that matter. But it all depends on the company's culture, you can usually find that our trough their website. keming is bad kerning

They look a bit stuffy looking at their homepage. You could always wear a wig. I've found many agencies like to talk to you about what you feel are the 2 best examples of your work, so maybe have that prepared. If they know you can do the job, then really they're just interested in finding out if they want to work with you 8hrs a day. I had an interview once with a bald CD, he mentioned being really stressed and busy over the past year - naturally I made a joke about him having a full head of hair when he started out (comedy gold!). Didn't get that job. Miserable git. Try to judge the mood better than I did. I was unemployed for about 2 months after that. |

I'd take the piercing ring out for the duration of the interview (if it's a septum piercing you can put a retainer in so the hole stays open). But there's no need to hide your hairstyle - mohawks are hardly making a statement like Al Pacino in Taxi Driver. After you've been there a few weeks you'll be able to judge whether it's safe to wear the jewelry again! My free fonts www.utfi.net

I just think its a little uncalled for calling someone a cunt when they are asking for advice. everything seems to be a cunt in your book. but then again you seem to be the first to call your self one so i guess you would know best. |

We should use the power of DT to remove governments. I can think of a few could do with a spot of removal. My free fonts www.utfi.net
