ok. there's books which you can buy which list all agencies / creatives etc by area and gives you all their contact details - but you have to pay for the book - can't rememebr what its called - most library's will probably have one.

do you have a yellow pages and a phone? can you talk on the phone without sounding like an idiot? always a good starting point if you're notup to office visits.

the internet? - heard of that one? email your cv / portfolio - i respond to all enquiries as a matter of courtousy.

but to tell you truth, all agencies get so may inquiries (and usually there's one or two who are willing to do it for free) that a phone call or email usually sucks.

word of mouth and as i said above. big balls.

I've noticed here (pretty big London design agency) that the CD gets a lot of mail from wannabe designers and always seems to read what they have to say. So maybe a well designed mailshot would get you noticed.

Failing that, look up tescicular prosthetics in the yellow pages
