CSS coder - £20-25K Central London
No agencies please! We always recruit directly. No international applications. We need a fast start, so if you’re not able to be within commuting distance from central London quickly, then please don’t apply. We were recommended the dt forums by an excellent freelancer that we used a while ago, so we thought you'd get the first posting of this ad: Specialist web agency WeBuild (DOT co DOT uk) has the need for a full time CSS coder to help us with our ever increasing workload. Specialists in television websites, you’ll be working on channels such as the Extreme Sports Channel, Anime Central and True Movies. We are also busy on an exciting technical project with a worldwide client that will challenge your (and our) CSS skills! We are looking for a CSS coder who writes their own code and doesn’t use WYSIWYG editors, the output just isn’t up to scratch for our dynamic websites. You will be tested upon final interview and you’ll have notepad and a net connection, to make sure you can do what you say you can. What will give you the edge is an understanding of design and the attention to detail required as all of those pixels count and close is not good enough! A knowledge of Fireworks and/or Photoshop would be a distinct advantage, although we are not looking for a designer. If you have some design skills that would be an advantage, as it’ll give you a greater understanding of the kind of bespoke work we do. However, this is a job for someone with 1 to 2 years relevant commercial experience, and we’ll be wanting to see your portfolio. We will be providing a lot of training and support to help you become the type of coder we’re looking to develop for a long term position at the company. So if you’re interested in working for a dynamic web agency based in Covent Garden, London, then please get in touch with iain AT webuild DOT co DOT uk. The salary will be from £20K to £25K dependant on how good you are. |

We've done this before in a previous company and do provide a lot of support and training for the candidate. That's just as much part of the package as the salary and it'll allow someone who wants to develop their skills to focus. If the candidate has the right attitude then they'll do very well with us. If they pick up the skills quickly then we'll keep their salary in line with that. Out of interest, what kind of salary would people be looking for if they've got more experience and could hit the ground running? |
