Hello,
We are the owners of a traditional fine jewellers within the Staffordshire area with a 125+ year history of excellent customer service and beautiful products. We have been approached by, and ripped off by a number of so called "web designers" who have promised to place our company on the internet and have in fact returned to us a rubbishy (overused) template which simply doesn’t befit the company.
We are interested in initially setting up simply a "shop front" for the company to test for business then maybe at a later date look to maybe adding a small amount of online commerce to the site. We are however of the believe that it is better not to have a website at all than to have one which degrades our local brand image. Therefore up until now we haven't placed anything online.
We are interested in finding a designer who would be willing to design a simple (maybe 4/5 pages) website to showcase our fine jewellery business which will improve brand awareness instead of taking away from it. If this proves successful at increasing our brand awareness then the same designer would most likely be approached for any additional expansion to the site. We do have access to a number of computers and a digital camera although we are hardly savvy at using either (books don't break!) We can obviously pay for any work although as we are unsure of the territory and have been burned before the budget is not huge. These kinds of sites are obviously well out of our budget at the moment though maybe if the move onto the internet proves fruitful then maybe not!
